Rehlko: A Bold Name, A Strong Legacy
While Campbell’s dropping “Soup” is grabbing headlines, let’s not let that overshadow some other interesting company naming stories.
Kohler Energy’s transformation into Rehlko is a masterclass in clever execution.
As consumers, we know Kohler for their kitchen and bath products. But their parent company recently spun off Kohler Energy, demanding a fresh identity. Rehlko cleverly rearranges the letters of Kohler, creating a link to its strong legacy while forging a new path.
The first two letters brilliantly capture the new company’s essence: “reflecting the reliability, resolve, reinvention, and resilience that have been — and will remain — the hallmarks of this organization,” says Rehlko CEO Brian Melka.
This approach, reminiscent of Siegel+Gale’s naming of TEGNA (a spin-off from media giant Gannett), showcases how anagrams can infuse a new company with a fresh vision while honoring its heritage.
